The Scarcity of Great Men (From Chapter 3)

From Chapter 3, and one of the 24 articles I wrote for “The Working Tools” Masonic Magazine as a monthly contributor. I found this goinf through my archives, and I hope you enjoy!   The Scarcity of Great Men (Continue Chapter 3)          Welcome!                   This month we're continuing with Chapter 3 “The Master” where Pike is explaining the third degree of freemasonry.           In these first paragraphs Pike is explaining on a spiritual realm, many SAY they have answers, but Pike challenges these people and suggests when it comes to spirituality; we really are only guessing so long as we are in our human form.     Let’s begin!             *      *      *      *      *      * If, in teaching the great doctrine of the divine nature. of the Soul, and in striving to explain its longings after immortality, and in proving its superiority over the souls of the animals, which have no aspirations Heavenward, the ancients struggled in vain to express the nature of the

A Menace for the Church and Society

Greetings and Welcome Back as we continue our study of Albert Pike’s “Morals and Dogma”.       This time we continue with chapter 30 where Pike continues his thoughts on the persecution of religious ideals and other pursuits of truth that were contrary to societal “norms” in their own time. This time we will begin Chapter 30.     Before we do begin the study and opinion proper, I would like to apologize for the absence of this study in the last few weeks. I have been recovering from a flu virus that has been going around, as well as a heavy dose of writer’s block. Just the very THOUGHT of writing, or TRYING to write in these past few weeks was a mental hell, so I had to back away for awhile. This began around the end of the last chapter, and admittedly I was “dialing it in” just to post something here.    My plan is to revisit this study at the end of Chapter 32 (after a hiatus) and cover whatever I feel we should focus again upon. Also, there are many chapters missing as I let lapse my Word Press account and cannot recover a good portion of this work. I refuse to continue to pay for items out of my own pocket without any means to recover my expenses in this study that is
